What is a Transient Student? A transient student is one who is already enrolled at UNF and temporarily enrolls at another institution to transfer credits back.
Can transient students get financial aid?
No. Only federal and state financial aid may be available for transient coursework. BW Grants, scholarships, and other instuonal aid are not available towards transient coursework.

Non-degree seeking students are individuals whose goal is to take a limited number of courses for the purposes of personal or professional enrichment and who have no intent of accumulating credits toward a certificate or degree.
What is the difference between a transfer student and a transient student?
Transient admission is for one semester only, after which courses completed at UCF are transferred back to a student’s home institution. Note: If you are currently a student at another institution and want to seek a degree at UCF, you are considered a Transfer Student, not a Transient Student.
How does Bright Futures work as a transient student?
Transient courses must be approved by the home institution to receive funding. A student may choose to enroll and receive Bright Futures funding for only one term during the academic year. Awarded students may receive Bright Futures funding only at eligible Florida postsecondary institutions per term.
Does Bright Futures cover transient?
May transient students receive summer Bright Futures funding? Yes. Bright Futures scholars who are degree-seeking students at UNF during the current academic year and attend another institution during summer may receive funding if the coursework is approved by the home institution (UNF).
